Pakistan’s former cricketer Ramiz Raja, widely expected to be elected as the next Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on September 13, has begun the process of meeting high-profile individuals in the country’s cricket structure.

Raja spent six hours in the National High Performance Center (NHPC) on Wednesday.

According to sources, the expected future chairman of the PCB met chief selector Mohammad Wasim and discussed the current selection structure of the national side.

Sources further stated that the squads for the upcoming series against New Zealand and the upcoming T20 World Cup were discussed while the chief selector was also questioned about recent selections and the overall vision of the selection committee going forward.

Sources also revealed that Raja met Pakistan’s skipper Babar Azam and the two individuals discussed the problems and issues surrounding the national side.

Head coach Misbahul Haq, who is currently quarantining in West Indies after being tested positive for Covid-19, is expected to meet Ramiz Raja after returning to Pakistan.

The expected future chairman of the PCB also met provincial coaches and discussed matters pertaining to the structure of the teams in domestic cricket.

Ramiz Raja was briefed about the workings of the NHPC during his visit and also met key officials in the setup.
