Authorities urged to speed up construction work

Secretary Social Welfare says social welfare institutions were at the forefront of public service

Secretary Social Welfare and Baitul Maal Punjab Muhammad Hassan Iqbal directed the authorities concerned to speed up the pace of construction work of the shelter home project at Rawalpindi Institute of Urology (RIU).

He said that social welfare institutions were at the forefront of public service and a vast amount had allocated for social welfare projects in the next year’s fiscal budget. He was inspecting the divisional under construction shelter home being constructed at the premises of RIU. He added that the project would be completed at a cost of Rs48 million, which would accommodate over 100 needy people.

Iqbal directed the authorities concerned to ensure the completion of the project within the shortest possible time frame. During his visit, he inspected various parts of the triple-story shelter home and said that no compromise should be made on the quality of construction work of the building. Director Social Welfare and Baitul Maal Rawalpindi Division Muhammad Shahid Rana briefed the secretary about development projects.
