Rawalpindi City Traffic Police (CTP) has issued a traffic plan comprising alternative routes as development work on Ammar Shaheed Chowk is underway.
Officials said additional traffic police would be deployed on the diversion points in three shifts. In this regard, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rai Mazhar Iqbal said implementation of the alternate traffic plan had started.
The traffic coming from Benazir Airport heading to Scheme-3 would be diverted to the service road from the traffic garrison gate. Traffic from the airport heading to Kutcheri would be diverted to the right side before Ammar Chowk for reaching Kutcheri. Motorists who want to reach Benazir airport would be diverted to the slip turn before Ammar Chowk so they can reach their destination. According to the traffic plan, road users from Kutcheri to Scheme-3 would have to detour to the service road from garrison gate whereas those willing to reach the airport would be diverted to slip turn before Ammar Chowk.
