Quetta Gladiators’ Head Coach Moin Khan has slammed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for treating all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez in an unfair manner, despite performing well on the field.

Hafeez, who has been in prolific form in the recent past, had turned down the PCB’s central contract offer, after the T20I specialist was inducted in Category C.

In a message on his official Instagram account, Moin said: “Mohammad Hafeez deserves A category contract and there are clear double standards from PCB to award him C category when Azhar Ali and Yasir Shah who also play in one format are given A category contracts. True reflection of prejudice against an individual.”

Meanwhile, PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan had, earlier, stated that he fully respects the decision made by the all-rounder.

“Mohammad Hafeez declined the reward and while I am disappointed, I fully respect his decision. He wants to wait for the PCB Central Contract 2021-22 list, which he is fully entitled to. Hafeez has been one of our star performers of the season and we hope he will carry the form and momentum to Africa,” said Khan.

Hafeez is currently playing the HBL Pakistan Super League for the Lahore Qalandars and has already scored two fifties in his first three outings.
