RAWALPINDI:

The Rawalpindi District Registration Authority (DRA) has decided to open over 800 private schools in the Rawalpindi district.

The authority working under the District Education Officer (DEO) has directed the school owners to start the enrolment process. The applications for schools’ opening were pending for up to a decade.

The decision was taken in a meeting of DRA chaired by Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anwarul Haq on Sunday. The official directed to issue certificates to all educational institutions whose applications were pending for the past seven to ten years. The measure has made Rawalpindi the first district in Punjab where no application to open schools is pending.

At the historic occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Muhammad Abdullah said that it was made possible due to the love of education DC Haq had for education.

He added that all private schools seeking approvals had been allowed to open institutions immediately.

DRA member Irfan Muzaffar Kiyani said that the measure would enable more enrollments of children while it would also help to meet the target of admissions.

Besides this, Kiyani said that it would generate employment for young boys and girls along with low-grade employees.
