The creators of fan favourite The Kapil Sharma Show have announced that the show will go off-air temporarily. The comedy sketches on Sony TV will undergo changes and be revamped after a short break.
A source shared with The Indian Express that the comedian will return to the screen very soon as it will just be a break for a few weeks. The cast and crew had been considering changes to bring innovation to the show, which is why the channel decided to take a break. Due to Covid-19, there’s no audience on set and the cast felt the need to improvise in order to add the extra hint of fun. “Also, Kapil Sharma’s wife Ginni Chatrath is pregnant and their second baby is due next month. Kapil decided to take the break now so that he could spend time with his family and the newborn,” the source added.
The show will continue to air for couple more weeks since the team is currently shooting previously scheduled episodes. As of the break, it is said to be for a couple of months.
Originally, The Kapil Sharma Show had launched in 2016. A year later, comedian Kapil Sharma had fallout with Sunil Grover and Ali Asgar and the show went on a break in 2017.
