Models call out Nabila over 'bitter' remarks on Eman Suleman's Insta post

Eman Suleman, Rehmat Ajmal, Farwa Ali called out the makeup guru for her 'bitter' remarks over former's latest look

Model Eman Suleman, makeup artists Fatima Nasir and Nabila were caught up in an Instagram feud on Thursday when the former posted stunning pictures from a recent photo shoot and Nabila went on to 'criticise' the hair in the look by makeup artist Fatima.

Donning a gorgeous Mohsin Naveed Ranjha mustard lehenga choli with heavy work, Eman looked beautiful in a retro look with a headband included as a hair accessory. While the model and the makeup artists garnered praises over the recent shoot, Nabila wasn't a big fan.

"Great idea, executed badly," the veteran makeup artist commented on the post. "Especially the 'ichra' looking hairpiece. When the subject is so beautiful, it’s a sin to not up our game."

To this, Eman defended Fatima's efforts and replied, "Nabila, I think it’s a job well done, better than any parlour could’ve done."

"Agreed," Nabila continued, "But I’m sure you agree there is always room for improvement. In my opinion, the hair finish looks too synthetic and takes away from the regal styling. Obviously, we can choose to be reactive or grow from criticism. I prefer the latter."

Fatima then responded to Nabila's criticism and wrote, "Her real hair is roughly 4-5 inches long, requires a lot of skill to even fake a hairdo like this to be honest. Made this out of real hair extensions and paddings only, blended her short hair with the structure, didn’t use a wig. Still managed to achieve the hair reference I was given with ease. It’s a lot easier to just criticise someone’s work don’t you think? I bet 9 out of 10 artists won’t be able to achieve it."

The makeup mogul didn't seem to appreciate the explanation and shared, "I see you choose to react and defend. All the best."

Fatima then said, "Not defending, it’s important to put yourself in other person’s shoes." To this, Nabila quipped, "Dear I have been in these shoes for 35 years, just FYI."

"It’s not even about the experience, it’s about the word ‘ichra’ you used to describe my work," Fatima relayed. "People forget what you say but they never forget how you make them feel. An artist can very talented/experienced etc but empathy is just as crucial."

But Nabila shared false empathy can be interpreted as false flattery. "Sorry if I hurt you but false empathy can be interpreted as false flattery in my dictionary. If I were you, I would investigate how I can improve my finishing skills but you are not me. Let’s leave it at this."

"Please, stop being so bitter," the model commented.

"You’re very arrogant, I feel sorry for you!" Fatima then added, "How come you never left a nice comment on our work ever but felt compelled to leave a nasty one today? You don’t even follow us. You are bitter indeed!"

At this point, models Farwa Ali Kazmi, Rehmat Ajmal and Rubbab Ali lent their support to Fatima.

"It's sad to see such a condescending and wicked comment coming from a very senior artist who has been in the industry for 35 years. One can only claim their right to criticise when they also praise the work others do," Farwa shared. "It’s quite disgusting and off-putting really," Rehmat opined.

"If I were you I would write my opinion and leave my suggestion in a polite way without attacking the artist, the work and the locality which would have been well received. But you aren't me, you are Nabila. Let's leave it at that," Farwa continued.

Many Instagram users came to Nabila's defense, asking models to respect a celebrated makeup stylist. "Okay wow. So did you guys get paid for doing this?" Rubbab shared.

One user then accused Eman of being a classist when the former pointed out how Eman used the word 'parlour' for Nabila's salon. "Nabila finally mocked and wrote, "When you fake being politically correct and get caught in your own trap." "Fake being politically correct? Did you read my comment? Please stop commenting, Nabila, your malice is showing," Eman wrote.
