Sindh saw another 1,005 Covid-19 cases on Friday, when nine more coronavirus-related deaths were reported in the province, according to a statement issued by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. The CM stated the 1,005 samples had tested positive out of a pool of 12,904 samples, following which the total number of infections reported in the province had climbed to 224,004. Meanwhile, after more nine deaths, the Covid-19 death toll in Sindh increased to 3,679, he added.
Among the new cases, 733 were detected in Karachi. Moreover, 51 fresh cases emerged in Hyderabad, 21 in Kashmore-Kandhkot, 15 each in Shaheed Benaziarabad and Shikarpur, 11 in Jamshoro, 10 in Qambar-Shahdadkot, nine in Jacobabad, eight in Larkana and as many in Sukkur, seven each in Khairpur, Sujawal and Ghotki, six in Tando Muhammad Khan, three in Mirpurkhas, two in Badin and one in Sanghar and Thatta each.
Besides, he said, with 536 more Covid-19 patients beating the contagion, the total number of recoveries in the province now added up to 202,570. Of currently 17,775 patients undergoing treatment, 16,889 are in home isolation, 11 in isolation centres and 855 in hospitals, the CM said, adding that 770 of them were critically ill, with 778 on ventilators.
