With Daman-e-Koh, Pir Sohawa and its adjoining areas attracting a large number of tourists annually, more hotels and restaurants must be developed to serve these visitors.
This was suggested by Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Chief Commissioner Amir Ali Ahmed on Saturday while visiting Daman-e-Koh along with the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis Syed Zulfiqar Bukhari on Saturday.
The CDA chief directed various departments of the authority to pay special attention to the cleanliness of these areas and to increase the number of cleaning staff deputed apart from installing additional bins in the area.
"It is our responsibility to take care of the greenery and cleanliness of the area,” he said.
The spot, which offers views of the entire city, enjoys the status of a tourist destination. This status is not only applicable to residents of the city but also for visitors from other parts of the country and even abroad.
Ahmed directed the Road Maintenance Department to work on repairing, carpeting, lane marking and installing kerbstones in Daman-e-Koh. This process, he said, should be completed as soon as possible.
Staff of road maintenance, sanitation, environment, street lights and other related departments were also present on the occasion. APP
