Aslam will leave for USA in 10-days’ time after completing his travel and residence arrangements

Pakistan opening batsman Sami Aslam is keen on representing the United States of America (USA) cricket team after being ignored for selection in the upcoming tour of New Zealand.
According to sources, Aslam will leave for USA in 10-days’ time after completing his travel and residence arrangements.
The left-hander will be playing domestic cricket in USA for a specific period of time, normally three years, before being eligible to play for the national side.
Many cricketers, including Pakistanis, have decided to move to USA in the recent past inorder to ensure that they are eligible to play the 2023 World Cup qualifying round.

It must be noted that Aslam was part of the Balochistan side during the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, after having represented Southern Punjab last season. He was leading his previous team but was removed from captaincy after disagreement with head coach Abdul Rehman for going against team’s tactics on the field.
He had also withdrawn from National T20 Cup 2020 after being named in the second XI of the Balochistan side.
Aslam, who made his Test debut against Bangladesh in 2015, has featured in 13 Tests for Pakistan, scoring 758 runs at an average of 31.58 and highest score of 91 against New Zealand in Hamilton during 2016. He has also played four One-day International (ODI) matches for the Men in Green.
