Race, which started from Khyber district, will drive down to Khanpur dam

The annual vintage and classic car rally 2020 started on Saturday from Khyber district.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (K-PCTA) and Classic Land Rover have jointly organised the event. Ancient and unique cars from 1930 to 1970 models, including Mercedes, Ford, Chevrolet, Mustang, M.G, V.W, Mini and others are taking part in the rally.

The rally will reach the Peshawar Services Club today (Sunday) where a grand show has been planned. The ceremony would kick off at 10am and conclude at 4pm.

The participants of car rally from Karachi and elsewhere would come to Multan, while the classic car racers from Peshawar, Islamabad and Lahore would join them there in the second phase of their journey. In the third phase, the racers from Karachi, Multan, Peshawar, Islamabad and Lahore would then leave for the tourist resort Khanpur, which is the final destination of the rally.

The 11th annual vintage and classic car rally aims to highlight the importance of scenic places and tourism in the merged districts to attract tourists to these areas.
