India may suffer the consequences of its actions in the illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and the policies adopted by the extremist Hindutva regime.
This was warned by the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Chairman Shehryar Afridi on Tuesday while speaking at a seminar on “Pakistaniat – The main driving force behind Kashmir Freedom Movement”.
Afridi lamented that the Modi regime was committing war crimes in IIOJK and that they have exposed the true face of India to the world.
He went on to claim that former chief ministers of the disputed Himalayan territory, Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti, had acknowledged that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s struggle for Pakistan and the Two-Nation Theory was right.
Pakistani and Kashmiri youth are being misled as part of an Indian ploy, he added.
Commenting on the struggle of the Kashmiri people under the extended Indian occupation, Afridi said that nations are recognised based on the sacrifices made by their people and Kashmiris have sacrificed everything to that effect.
The committee chairman went on to say that Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan and assured that Islamabad will continue its legal, moral and political support for the people of Kashmir as per the Quaid’s vision.
“India is distorting history through its soft power, but Pakistan can invoke mutually assured destruction,” he warned.
Afridi expressed that the country’s youth need to amplify the voices of the Kashmiri people.
“Our valiant armed forces have sacrificed their lives for the safety of the Kashmiri people on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC),” he mentioned.
The chairman reiterated that the Kashmir Committee has employed all its resources to raise a voice for the Kashmiris. He shared that a special focus is being laid on securing the digital space in the country while protecting and promoting the Kashmiri cultural heritage.
He also caommented that Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) is being given a special provincial status in line with the United Nations resolutions on IIOJK, adding that the premier has pledged to allocate unprecedented funds to bring G-B at par with the other provinces.
