The children of fishermen should be given employment opportunities in the Pakistan Navy, urged Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah while meeting the new Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi, at the CM House on Monday.

Congratulating Admiral Niazi, the CM said it was an honour for Sindh's people that the naval chief belonged to Sanghar district. "Your appointment as the chief of Pakistan Navy is a source of inspiration for our new generation, who are keen to join the armed forces, particularly the navy," he said.

The naval chief shared tales of his childhood experiences in Sanghar, adding that he would try to serve the district's people.

At this, Shah requested him to help the Sindh government set up a better cadet college or turn the Sanghar Cadet College into a seat of excellence.

Turning to the topic of Sindh's fishermen, the CM said they loved the sea and spent their lives on it fearlessly.

Expressing appreciation for the CM's suggestion of employing fishermen's children in the navy, Admiral Niazi assured him of developing a system for such opportunities.

The CM further proposed assistance in developing recreational activities at jetties and islands located from Karachi to Keti Bandar. To this, the admiral said the proposal would be worked out in the larger interest of Pakistan.
