ISLAMABAD:

American blogger Cynthia Dawn Ritchie on Saturday challenged in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) the sessions court decision of not registering a case against former interior minister Rehman Malik.

The application submitted through Cynthia’s counsel Imran Feroz Malik Advocate has nominated SP complaint Islamabad, SHO Secretariat police station, Rehman Malik and Justice of Peace as respondents.

The plea adopted the stance that Malik had committed a heinous crime but no action was taken against him and that the Justice of Peace while rejecting the US blogger’s plea had not considered the main points of the case.

It requested the IHC to declare the sessions court decision of October 1 of dismissing Cynthia’s plea void ab initio and direct the SP complaint to register a case against Malik.

The US blogger had accused Malik of raping her at his residence in 2011.
