Two critically burnt in cylinder explosion

Fire broke out during refilling of gas in rickshaw

A rickshaw driver and a shopkeeper suffered severe burn injuries when a cylinder exploded and fire broke out during refilling of gas on Sargodha Road on Wednesday.

Rescue 1122 personnel shifted the victims to hospital after urgent medical treatment. The condition of both of them was reported to be critical.

According to local people, 40-year-old Faryad Masih and Iqbal Masih had set up a gas refilling shop near an SNGPL office on Sargodha Road, where 38-year-old Muhammad Ghous went to fill the cylinder in his rickshaw.

While he was filling the cylinder, it exploded and caused a fire in the shop. Faryad Masih and the rickshaw driver Ghous suffered critical burn injuries and the fire also engulfed an adjoining shop.

Rescue 1122 teams managed to extinguish the fire and transferred the two injured men to Allied Hospital's burn unit after urgent medical treatment.
