Two more people who had sustained severe burn injuries when a passenger van overturned and caught fire on the M9 Motorway succumbed to their wounds late on Sunday night, taking the accident's death toll to 17.
The deceased were identified as 28-year-old Ahmed Sohail and 32-year-old Irfanur Rehman. They were both undergoing treatment at the burns ward at Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital.
Meanwhile, two others killed in the accident were laid to rest in Hyderabad on Monday.
Irfan Ansari, 38, was laid to rest after funeral prayers in Latifabad Unit 5, while Muhammad Ahmed, 28, was buried in Latifabad Unit 2.
Both Ansari and Ahmed also lost their wives in the deadly mishap. The body of Ahmed's wife, Hira, has not yet been identified, according to family sources, as several of the victims were burned beyond recognition. Meanwhile, Ansari's wife, Madiha, too passed away.
