In-laws dragged the victim out of the house

RAWALPINDI:

A woman was assaulted by her in-laws who dragged her out of the house, beat her, and tore her clothes in the precincts of Saddar police station on Saturday. The victim, Nazakat, informed the police that she was alone at her home located in Quaid-e-Azam Colony. The victim’s father-in-law, Abdul Jalil, mother-in-law, Safdar Bibi, brothers-in-law including Junaid, Waqas, and Kamran as well as sisters-in-law Shamia Bibi and Shabeela Bibi came to the house when the husband was away.

The in-laws started a fight with the victim and dragged her out of the house. The suspects beat the victim and tore her clothes. When neighbours called emergency helpline, 15, the suspects fled before the arrival of police. The Express Tribune learnt through sources that the police have although registered a first information report (FIR) against the in-laws however the Investigation Officer (IO) Zulfiqar is forcing the complainant for a compromise and has not arrested any of the suspects yet.
