September 3 marked the 56th birth anniversary of the late national icon Junaid Jamshed, popularly referred to around Pakistan as JJ. Till this day, music lovers remember him as the heartthrob pop legend that he was, as they croon his tunes to recall his presence.
And of course, singer Ali Zafar is no different. With respect to JJ’s birth anniversary, the singer took to Twitter on Thursday and paid a tribute to the legend in the form of a cover of Aietbaar - arguably one of his biggest hits.
"Happy 56th birthday, dear Junaid Jamshed. You will always rule our hearts. Rest in peace. Sharing my little tribute again. Aietbaar, Vital Signs cover," Zafar wrote.

Born on September 3, 1964, the pop singer-turned-evangelist shot to stardom and became a household name in the 80s as the frontman of the Vital Signs.
Before breaking apart, the band delivered several chart-topping numbers, including the timeless classic Dil Dil Pakistan, Tum Mil Gaye, Aietbaar and Who Kaun Thi, amongst others. In the late 90s, its members went their separate ways, with JJ launching a solo career.
The singer and his wife were among 48 people aboard the PIA plane which crashed near Abbottabad almost four years ago.
