Police claim busting ‘Denu’, ‘Dansha’ gangs

Suspects nominated in numerous cases of robberies, snatching

Police claimed to have arrested members of so called Dansha and Denu gangs besides recovering cash, mobile phones and weapons from them

According to a police spokesman, SHO Cantt police station, acting ona tip-off by an informer, conducted a raid and managed to arrest Danish Khursheed Dansha the alleged ringleader of Dansha Gang.

Dansha was nominated in cases of robberies and bike thefts cases. Two members of the gang, identified as Aqib and Tayyab, were already behind bars.

In another raid, Rattamral police arrested Syed Agha and Muhammad Din Denu who were accused of being involved in number of robberies and street crimes in different areas of Rawalpindi. The Agha and Denu had teamed up for carrying out robberies and snatching and claimed themselves as the Denu Gang. They had also brought wayward youngsters under their wings to commit street crime on motorbikes.

Agha and Denu confessed to have committed robberies, cash and mobile snatching and other crimes in different areas.

Infant’s body foun

Body of a day-old child was found in a garbage dumpster along a road near a filling station in Shamsabad on Saturday. A man going for Fajir prayers noticed the body and alerted Rescue 1122. The rescue service has shifted the remains to District Head Quarters Hospital (DHQ), Rawalpindi for legal formalities.

Officials at the Shamsabad police station said that the body will remain in the morgue for some time during which public announcement would be made through newspaper to claim it. If unclaimed, the remains would be buried as per law and Islamic customs.

Separately, Rawalpindi police arrested three alleged drug peddlers besides recovering over 4kgs hashish from them.

In another incident, Kalar Syedan police team acting on a tip-off by an informer conducted a raid in its jurisdiction and arrested 11 gamblers involved in betting while playing cards.

Police recovered Rs77,000 cash stake money, nine mobile phones and other items from their possession. In another raid, Sadiqabad police held nine gamblers and recovered Rs11,150 cash stake money, five mobile phones and other items from their possession.
