The Inspector General of Police Punjab (IGP) Shoaib Dastagir held a meeting with Gilgit Baltistan IGP Dr Mujeebur Rahman Khan at Central Police Office in Lahore and offered on-ground support and assistance on Monday.
During the meeting, the officers discussed matters regarding modern policing, overall scenario of law and order along with other important issues. Gilgit Baltistan IGP Mujeebur Rahman acknowledged the efficacy of information technology (IT) projects of Punjab Police and said that such modern projects with advance working ideas are imitable for police of other provinces as well.
During the meeting for enhancing efficiency of officials through mutual cooperation and information sharing between Punjab and Gilgit-Baltistan, the highest ranking police officers maintained that they would promote coordination. At the end of the meeting,
IGP Dastagir presented a book on the history of Punjab Police to the Gilgit-Baltistan IGP. Dastaghir said Punjab Police effectively utilised modern policing techniques based upon information technology for ensuring the supremacy of law, protecting property and lives of citizens as well as improving the service delivery mechanism of the institution.
