The provincial government has decided to complete a process to rationalise the deployment of government school teachers in all categories next month.
For this purpose, the Punjab education ministry has compiled data of educators across the city.
Provincial education ministry officials said that the rationalisation process will be completed by August 31 and all preparations in this regard have already been completed.
Further, Punjab SES Teachers Association (SESTA) office-bearers including Shafique Bhalwalia and Umar Hayat Gondal condemned the move.
They demanded to postpone the process until April 2021, contending that the educational institutions are currently shut due to the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) lockdown and if the rationalisation process is completed now, it will infringe upon the rights of senior teachers.
