Inaccurate billing

Inaccurate billing

KARACHI:

As a resident of Mehran Colony and a distinguished professor serving as the Head of the Department of Pathology at Chandka Medical College in Larkana, I have always been conscientious about my electricity usage. Therefore, I was astonished to receive a exorbitant bill from SEPCO for the month of May 2023.

Upon discovering this, I promptly visited the SEPCO office to inquire about the discrepancy. Regrettably, the officials at the office failed to provide a reasonable explanation for the bill. Instead, they requested that I file a written complaint, which I promptly did, detailing my concerns and seeking clarification regarding the unjustified amount. However, to my dismay, I have not received any response from SEPCO regarding my written complaint, despite several days of passing. The lack of communication and failure to address my concerns have only exacerbated my frustration. As a result, I decided to escalate the matter by lodging a complaint with the Federal Ombudsman, hoping that their intervention would expedite the resolution process. Unfortunately, even after four weeks, I am yet to receive a response from the Federal Ombudsman’s office, leaving me disheartened and disillusioned with the functioning of these institutions.

Considering the aforementioned incidents and the lack of satisfactory response from both SEPCO and the Federal Ombudsman, I urge the higher authorities to take immediate action against those responsible for these lapses in their duties. It is imperative that a thorough investigation is conducted to rectify this issue and prevent similar instances of inaccurate billing from occurring again.
