The Sindh government has asked the federal government to hand over the railway police to the provinces. Sindh Transport Minister Awais Qadir Shah stated on Thursday that following the 18th Amendment, the railway police should come under the jurisdiction of the provincial governments, adding that the federal government was responsible for implementing the 18th Amendment. “Strengthening the provinces under the 18th Amendment will only strengthen the federal government,” he maintained, while criticising Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed for ‘ruining’ the railway department.
