A police official was killed while nine others were injured when a police contingent was ambushed by dacoits in Rownti near Ubauro on Friday. The dacoits had reportedly kidnapped Muhammad Azeem Solangi and Allah Rakhio Solangi from Bori village two weeks ago. In an attempt to rescue the abducted men, a police team comprising 100 officials, 15 police mobiles and two armoured personnel carriers entered the Rownti forest area. However, they were attacked when they reached Umar Shar village. As a result, nine police officials and a villager were injured, with one of the policemen succumbing to his injuries on the way to the hospital. A second police contingent was summoned to locate the suspects.
