A change in Sindh, under the provisions of the Constitution, may be in the offing, claimed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Haleem Adil Sheikh, insisting that the possibility of governor's rule in the province couldn't be ruled out.
Addressing a press conference at Insaf House on Friday, the MPA questioned the Sindh government's refusal to collect the withholding tax on the Centre's behalf.
"How can it collect tax on behalf of the federation and not hand it over to the federal government?" he questioned, adding that tax collection was the provinces' responsibility and any provinces failing to fulfil this "constitutional obligation" were likely to witness governor's rule.
Responding to the provincial government’s contention that it hadn't received its share from federal funds, he said Sindh had been given Rs255 billion under the National Finance Commission.
