An exhibition of Ishtiaq Mahmood Tahir’s work was held at Hotel Crown Plaza. The exhibition consisted of 30 pieces. Tahir said due to space constraints, he had to choose specific art to showcase in the three-day event. The work included pencil art, oil and water paintings.

Speaking with The Express Tribune, Tahir said his work had always been a priority. “My aim has been to bring people closer to nature so that they can appreciate it.” The focus of his work in this exhibition was wildlife, forests and nature.

A Mona Lisa pencil sketch was showcased in the exhibition. Tahir said it was a painstaking venture which took a year to execute. He added that he had studied the original painting in great detail, acquiring research material from The Louvre Museum in Paris. Tahir said he felt immensely blessed to be guided by legends such as Sadequain.

Tahir started his career in 1980 from the Punjab Art Council. His work has been displayed all over the world. This was Tahir’s 58th exhibition.
