Traffic warden tests positive for coronavirus

Official was deputed in the Model Town sector

LAHORE: A traffic warden has been tested positive for coronavirus and he has been shifted to Expo Quarantine Centre.

He was deputed at the Model Town Sector. A few days back, the victim started showing symptoms and his test was taken that came positive.

The coronavirus has started hitting wardens of city traffic police also after targeting the medical community and Punjab Police.

These communities have been coming in close contact with suspected and confirmed Covid-19 patients that too without proper sensitisation and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).

Chief Traffic Police Officer (CTO) Syed Hammad Abid has issued a policy for ensuring social distancing for all offices of City Traffic Police Lahore (CTPL).

In this regard, markings in all the offices have been made and signs for returning of documents have also been demarcated. According to the policy, citizens will also be briefed about line management. They will also be asked to wash hands.

The City Traffic Police, district police and the medical community are the professionals that have been in close contact with suspected and confirmed Covid-19 patients that too without proper sensitisation and PPE.

A considerable number of medical community members had been tested positive across Pakistan.
