Yasir Hussain stitches protective suit for doctors with Iqra Aziz

He urged everyone to do the same instead of just paying a tribute to healthcare workers

In a recent Instagram video, Yasir Hussain could be seen stitching a protective suit for doctors with his wife, Iqra Aziz.

The television personality said, "I don't know much sewing but Iqra taught me how to do this and we both stitched this together for the doctors and paramedics who are under-equipped."

He held the ready to wear white suit in his hand elaborating on the initiative. "The initiative is Asim Jofa's and he has provided us with this fine material of cloth we are using. But if you're at home then you can use any material and do the same instead of just paying tributes to the health care professionals."

Aziz also appeared at the end of the video, requesting her followers for the same. "We both have made this together and so can you. Please start stitching and sending in your help," she said.

In a recent Instagram story, Hussain shared another tale from his beloved home about a conversation between his maid and wife. It reiterated the ordeal of every household with nothing extraordinary until he revealed that he had been moping the floors of his house - something most Pakistani women cannot relate to.

He wrote, "It is the truth: Today our house help arrived to collect her salary for the previous month. Owing to ongoing lockdown, she also asked if should could receive advance payment for the ongoing month."

"To this our wife said, 'I will give you the entire salary on the condition that when you return to work, you will sweep and clean the house like this. Look at how shiny the floor is. Following this the cleaning lady said, 'A man's hand is a man's hand."

His message may make one wonder if he was just complimenting himself or giving a public service message to the men out there by setting an example.

But the crux of the matter remains that while the majority of desi men are not interested in helping their wives with household chores, the television personality does not care about gender roles and so his followers, should start following.
