Rashid Latif names his all-time Pakistan ODI XI

Pakistan’s former wicketkeeper-batsman Rashid Latif, while responding to a tweet on Thursday, revealed his all-time Pakistan One-Day International (ODI) XI.

Rashid Latif played 166 One-day Internationals (ODIs) and 37 Test matches for Pakistan between 1992 and 2003 as a wicketkeeper right-handed batsman. He also served as the captain of the Pakistan cricket team in 2003, leading the country in six Tests and 25 ODI matches.

The 51-year-old chose legendary former opener Saeed Anwar and hard-hitting former all-rounder Shahid Afridi at the top of the order to provide a fiery start.

The former skipper than picked four legendary former batsmen to provide enormous depth to the batting department. He included Zaheer Abbas, Javed Miandad, Inzamamul Haq and Mohammad Yousuf, in the same order, in the batting line-up.

Latif picked former wicketkeeper Moin Khan in his all-time ODI XI as well. 

A strong pace department followed with Imran Khan, Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis. Off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq was the only choice, albeit a skillful one, in the spin bowling department. 

The former wicketkeeper-batsman chose the legendary former pacer Shoaib Akhtar as the 12th man for his side.
