Confidence grows in job market: survey

KARACHI: The number of companies letting staff go at professional and managerial level in Pakistan has dropped significantly since the start of the year, said Antal International Network, a global executive recruitment firm.

It conducted a quarterly ‘Global Snapshot Survey’ of more than 9,600 organisations in 55 countries on whether they were currently hiring or firing at the professional and managerial level.

The survey results showed that 29 per cent of Pakistani organisations are currently letting managerial staff go, a figure that has dropped considerably from 53 per cent at the start of the year, suggesting that there is growing confidence in the job market.

‘’It is a very encouraging and positive indicator showing the stability in the Pakistani employment market,’’ said Saqlain Shah, Head of Operations, Antal International Network Pakistan, in a press release on Wednesday.
