‘Sindh Police using as little force as possible’
Sindh police was using force only when necessary
KARACHI: Karachi AIG Ghulam Nabi Memon appealed to the citizens on Tuesday to practice self-isolation and assured them that the police was trying to use as little force as possible during the ongoing province-wide lockdown.
In a video statement, he stressed that the police was using force only when necessary and had little choice but to arrest those violating bans and rules put in place in connection with the lockdown and coronavirus outbreak.
The Sindh government announced the lockdown due to the uncontrollable spread of coronavirus, he said, adding that the police was obliged to follow the government's directives.
Karachi police chief, calling for cooperation between police officials and citizens, said that in case a citizen had any complaints against an official, that person may report it to the police complaint cell. Legal action will then be taken against the relevant official after investigation, he added.
