Chris Lynn scored his career-best 113 not out as Lahore Qalandars defeated Multan Sultans by nine wickets at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium to book a spot in the HBL PSL 2020 semi-finals.

This was the 29-year-old’s second century in T20 cricket in which he smashed 12 fours and eight sixes.

“I generally just like winning and if I go home I have to sit in isolation for two weeks so I would rather be playing here and hitting sixes. I would have missed out on it if I had gone home,” said Lynn.

Many foreign players had decided to leave Pakistan over coronavirus fears but Lahore Qalandars are the only franchise which have all their overseas players available for the tournament so far.

“The situation is different in England as compared to Australia but I’m really proud of the Qalandars’ overseas playing group because they stuck together. We do have a player leaving tonight but he has obviously got a young kid and family comes first because that is a big thing in this franchise and we stick by that,” he said.

The right-hander also said that Qalandars are peaking at the right time and are ready to take on the Karachi Kings in the semi-finals of the event on Tuesday.

“I think we play our best cricket when our backs are against the wall and I think we are coming good at the right time,” he said. “We are playing good and if we play really go, watch out.”

“We have got a point to prove against them [Karachi Kings] because they beat us by ten wickets the other night. We are back on our home turf and we get to have another crack at it. I think they are the team to beat because they are well structured and well balanced,” he added.
