Quetta Gladiators’ batsman Ahmed Shehzad has been unable to impress during the ongoing Habib Bank Limited (HBL) Pakistan Super League (PSL) with just 30 runs under his belt after the first three matches of the tournament.

Former Pakistan pacer Tanvir Ahmed expressed his disappointment while speaking on Shehzad’s performance so far.

“Seeing the shot he played, which led to his dismissal in Quetta’s last match against Karachi Kings, I can’t understand what sort of cricket he is trying to play,” said Tanvir. “He is unable to produce the goods in batting but while fielding he is advising the bowlers to bowl within the stumps if they get hit for a boundary. He needs to concentrate on his own department and mind his own business rather than becoming a professor.”

He also predicted that Shehzad has played his last match of ongoing tournament unless the team management decide to keep faith in him.

“I think this match [against Karachi Kings] will be Shehzad’s last outing unless coach Moin and captain Sarfaraz decide to give him another go,” he said. “I don’t think he is focused enough to play cricket right now.”

Quetta’s next match in HBL PSL is against Islamabad United in Rawalpindi on Thursday, February 27.
