CHICHAWATNI: A man has accused a doctor and a quack of causing the death of his wife by cutting her veins and damaging her kidney and bladder during surgery.

The 40-year-old died after battling with pain for a few days. Police have filed a case against the doctor and his accomplice. Police said Akbar Ali, a resident of a village near Chichawatni, filed a complaint that he took his wife to Ahmad Surgical Complex for treatment.

After examining the patient, the doctor said that the patient had a cyst in her uterus so she would have to undergo an operation immediately.

Shortly afterwards, he took the patient Shameem Akhtar to the operation theatre where Doctor Dhillon and his colleague Faqir Hussain started the surgery. After some time, ten doctors came out of the operation theatre while Hussain continued to operate upon the patient.

Reportedly, during the operation, the patient's kidney and bladder were injured and leg veins were cut, and the quack advised the family to take the patient to Multan.
