It's a shame no one cares about Quetta's tragedies anymore: Ayub Khosa

Actor says the state has turned the law and order situation of Balochistan into a circus

KARACHI: On Monday, at least three security personnel among eight people were martyred as a suicide attack rattled Quetta city. More than 20 were injured in the blast that took place near Quetta Press Club where a religious party was holding a rally. A first Information Report was registered against unidentified attackers by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Tuesday.

In this connection, Quetta actor Ayub Khosa took to social media and called out authorities for turning the city into a circus of tragedies that no one really cares about. “The blood of my province is always up for sale,” he said in a public post on Facebook.

The actor who is presently shooting for a project in Bahawalpur spoke to The Express Tribune about the issue.  “Quetta is a joke that is not funny anymore and the authorities need to realise that. It's a shame that it has turned into a circus and no one cares about our tragedies anymore,” Khosa said.

“It is issues like these that create a sense of resentment among the local population. The state’s tendency of not taking Balochistan’s law and order situation seriously then trickles down to other departments such as healthcare and education. I think it is high time we start bothering about these issues or else just give up.”

Actor Ayub Khosa has been around in the entertainment business for almost three decades now.  While some may remember him as the host from Pakistan’s prime travel/food show on PTV, others remember him for titular characters on local TV and films.
