PESHAWAR: Two provincial assembly lawmakers on Monday submitted a call-to-attention (CTA) notice in the Khyber- Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Assembly secretariat to draw the government’s attention towards thousands of vacant seats of teachers at colleges across the province.

Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal-Pakistan (MMA-P) lawmakers Sirjuddin Khan and Humaira Khatoon in their CTA argued that reports were circulated in the media that different male and female post-graduate, graduate and degree colleges were looking to fill hundreds of vacant posts for teachers in their respective institutions. The lawmakers said that the report noted how the government has failed to recruit for these empty seats, nor has it promoted junior officials to fill them.
