LDA to receive development cost from plot owners

The city developer has announced that the plot owners will have to deposit half of this amount as promised earlier

LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) announced on Tuesday that it will start receiving development charges from owners of LDA City plots. The authority has estimated the cost of development work at Rs2.3 million per kanal.

The decision was made in a governing body meeting of the authority. The city developer has announced that the plot owners will have to deposit half of this amount as promised earlier. The 10-marla plot owners will have to deposit Rs0.69 million and 5-marla plot owners Rs0.4 million.

LDA Vice Chairman S M Imran chaired the meeting which was attended by MPAs Sadia Sohail Rana, WASA Vice Chairman Sheikh Imtiaz Mehmood, LDA Director General Sumair Ahmed, representatives of the provincial local government and others.

The meeting decided to issue a chip-embedded smart card to the property owners of Jubilee Town, LDA Avenue-1 and Mustafa Town with the technical support of NADRA in order to eliminate chances of forgery and impersonation in property transfer.
