For a prompt action this season, Union Council Coordination Committees have been constituted in some 212 neighbourhoods and village councils in the Rawalpindi district.
The administration has decided to use fish and ducks for eating out dengue larvae in ponds and lakes, besides fumigation. Under the programme, the district has been split into sectors, clusters, and circles while each of them would have a separate in-charge.
The district administration would recruit some 300 sanitary patrol workers for this season’s campaign whereas procurement of requisite medicines and equipment has also been completed.
The anti-dengue campaign would be overseen by the deputy commissioner (DC).
The indoor and outdoor teams would meticulously search tire shops, under construction buildings and junkyards for finding traces of dengue larvae.
