I have a natural instinct to challenge authority and power: Kangana Ranaut

The Bollywood star is also known for speaking her mind on a myriad of subjects

Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut is busy promoting her next nightly-anticipated film, Panga, which the trailer and songs already creating buzz.

Ranaut, who is known to speak her mind on a myriad of subjects, revealed her take on challenging power during the promotions of the film, reported Deccan Chronicle .

"I have never been intimidated by any powerful person and authority. I have a natural instinct to challenge authority and to test them, and it’s very natural. Authority asks you for a certain submission, a certain surrender. For that, it’s very important to test the authority," she said during the interview.

"To be honest, I think I am a dominating person by nature, but I am also very devotional. So, if I find somebody who is worthy of the position they are taking, I am the first one to surrender. But, I do test them. They may be powerful for others, I find them truly powerless.”

Previously, the Judgementall Hai Kya actor opened up about what it's like to be an 'outsider' in Bollywood and how difficult it is to remain headstrong in the industry.

"Being an outsider in the business, I have fought to carve a niche for myself. I have also been opinionated and I choose to express my views openly," Ranaut told IANS.

She continued, "There will always be a segment that will try to make you feel insignificant, but it is important to channel your strength and confidence and work hard to triumph. It's important to grow a distinct voice to break the clutter."

Ranaut made headlines for her fiery spirit in June last year after clashing with Bollywood A-lister Hrithik Roshan. The fight revolved around the pair’s newly-released blockbusters, which were going to be released on the same date.

Ranaut was quick to react to the news resulting in a clash on Twitter which instigated their two-year long spat.“Hrithik Roshan, Madhu Mantena and Ekta Kapoor had collectively decided that Hrithik would push Super 30’s release date and Ekta will bring her film MHK on 26th July, they had taken this call last week itself, I don’t know why he wrote this sob story but I am glad that MHK getting a solo release.”
