‘Work on Jalalpur Irrigation Canal in progress’
The canal will irrigate 170,000 acres in 80 different villages
MULTAN:
The work on 117-km long Jalalpur Irrigation Canal costing Rs32.72 billion is in progress with a brisk pace which will be completed within four years, said Agriculture Department Secretary Wasif Khursheed.
He stated this while chairing a meeting on Sunday. Officers from various departments of agriculture sector were also present on the occasion. The canal will irrigate 170,000 acres in 80 different villages. About 400,000 peasants will benefit from the scheme, he added.
