A hospital’s woes

City Hospital in Kashrote is devoid of basic facilities for patients

GILGIT, GILGIT-BALTISTAN: City Hospital in Kashrote is one of the major hospitals of Gilgit-Baltistan where thousands of patients visit and get admitted on a daily basis. The infrastructure of this hospital is lofty and large but as a hospital it is devoid of basic facilities for patients.

In the chilling cold weather of G-B, patients in this hospital are not even provided blankets and pillows let alone heaters or other facilities to cope with inclement weather. Most shockingly, the ICU ward lacks the essential medical apparatus necessary to handle emergency cases. This is a huge risk for emergency patients and those who are severely ill or wounded who are expecting their lives to be saved.

I would like to remind the chief minister of G-Breminded that building a gigantic hospital is a great initiative but, in addition, ensuring all facilities are provided at all times is a genuine accomplishment.
