Sindh govt removes advisors, appoints 2 on key posts

Qaiser Bengali appointed deputy chairman Planning Commission, Zubair Motiwala appointed chairman Board of Investment.

KARACHI: The Government of Sindh on Monday removed three advisors from their posts and appointed two of them on key posts in the provincial government.

According to Sindh Government sources, Qaiser Bengali, Zubair Motiwala and Khawaja Izharul Hasan have been removed as advisors.

The changes were made to accommodate advisors of new coalition partners Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid (PML-Q) and Functional (PML-F). According to the 18^th Amendment, the government can only have five advisors.

Bengali, who was previously advisor on Planning & Development, has been appointed as deputy chairman Planning Commission and Motiwala has been appointed chairman of the Board of Investment.

Both of them have been given the status of Minister.

Khawaja Izharul Hasan, who belongs to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, had already resigned from his post after his party quit the coalition in Sindh.

On July 14, the government had appointed three advisors from PML-Q and PML-F, PML-Q's Haleem Adil Shaikh and Ejaz Shah Shirazy were appointed as advisors for sports and rural development respectively and PML-F's Imtiaz Shaikh was appointed as advisor to the CM on Information and Technology.
