Young entrepreneurs are finding it hard to access the funds required for business

RAWALPINDI: Digital technology is reshaping the world. From the way people interact to how markets behave and consumers shop and pay their bills. It is because of this that technological advancements, industrial and agricultural productivity is increasing across the globe, in turn revolutionising healthcare and education, and enabling youth to create billion-dollar companies. Pakistan is, however, lagging behind in digital technology. Young entrepreneurs are finding it hard to access the funds required for business.

Recently the prime minister announced and inaugurated the Digital Pakistan campaign. This initiative will help the government and the private sector to work towards a digitally-progressive Pakistan. Digitalisation will set the country’s direction of the much needed and awaited digital technology-enabled future. The vision of a digital Pakistan can be achieved by improving digital infrastructure, spread connectivity and promoting entrepreneurship and innovation. The dream of digital Pakistan can only be achieved by consistent and sincere efforts, investment in infrastructure and suitable government policies. To make this happen we need to focus our efforts on encouraging digitalisation because only a combined effort will give the desired result.
