QUETTA: Balochistan Governor Amanullah Khan Yasinzai has said the provincial government is taking measures to address issues with regard to provision of higher education in remote areas of province.

“It is our responsibility to provide all resources to students in educational institutions to improve their quality of education,” Yasinzai said while addressing a ceremony held for distribution of laptops among students at Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University’s (SBKWU) Khuzdar Campus in Khuzdar district.

The governor said he was very happy to see a large number of girls in the province getting higher education which, he said, is a positive sign for the future and country.

“I wish that Sardar Bahadur Khan Woman University’s Khuzdar Campus would get status of a separate university. The land has been acquired for the Khuzdar Campus and its construction would immediately be launched after arranging funds for this purpose,” he said, urging students to focus on their education.

The governor also appreciated the efforts of teachers who are playing their role to educate students and emphasized that they promote an environment in which girls feel safe to get higher education.

“I am visiting higher educational institutions to ensure provision of higher education to students in remote areas so that they would be able to take advantage of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.”

The governor also distributed laptops among 53 female students at the conclusion of the ceremony.

Earlier, SBKWU Vice-Chancellor Dr Anjum Parvaz and its director, Muzafar Ahmed Longove, briefed the governor about the varsity facilities and requirements of the institution.

Yasinzai assured the vice chancellor that he would take possible steps to resolve problems.
