Infant’s body found from garbage dumpster

This is the third incident in which a newborn was abandoned, dead or alive, in the garrison city

RAWALPINDI: Another infant’s body was found from a garbage dumpster in the Hukumdad neighborhood located in the precincts of Waris Khan Police Station on Thursday.

The precinct’s police have registered a case and started searching for the parents.

This is the third incident in which a newborn was abandoned, dead or alive, in the garrison city over the last 45 days. Child Protection Bureau (CPB) Rawalpindi has declared the rise of such cases a sensitive matter.

According to the spokesperson Rescue 1122, they received complaints from the citizens that a couple had disposed of an infant’s body in a garbage trolley in the related area after which they reached the site and shifted the body to a hospital.

CPB District Officer Ali Naqvi said so far, bodie of three infants had been found from different areas of the city during the last 45 days.
