Forces alert to maintain order: Langove

Minister says hostile countries conspiring to disturb peace

QUETTA: Balochistan Minister for Home and Tribal Affairs Mir Ziaullah Langove said on Tuesday that strict security arrangements have been put in place throughout the province during the month of Rabiul Awwal as police, Frontier Corps and Levies force were on high alert.

"There are threats of terrorism as the land of our neighboring country is being used against us. All district administrations are directed to ensure foolproof security in their areas," said Langove while talking to media on his visit to Quetta.

Langove assured that peace and stability remain the top priority of the provincial government. He said security has been beefed up in Quetta to ensure peace and avoid any unfortunate incident during the month of Rabiul Awwal.

“Personnel from law enforcement agencies are performing duties to protect mosques,” said the minister.

Langove maintained that progress and development can only be ensured by eliminating poverty and ignorance. He appealed to the scholars and the people to support the law enforcement agencies.

The provincial minister has been vocal that some hostile forces are trying to jeopardise the country’s development by creating unrest in the province.

Langove said a peaceful Balochistan guaranteed the development of the country and that was why hostile countries were attempting to fuel uncertainty in the province. He vowed that the elements hatching such conspiracies would not be allowed to succeed.

“The government has been taking measures to maintain peace in Balochistan and secure the lives and properties of the citizens,” he said.

Earlier, the provincial minister stressed harmony and unity among all the tribes of the province to assure a stable and prosperous Balochistan.

Speaking with the leaders of Mengal and Sanari tribes, he said tribal conflicts are a major hindrance in the development of the province.

“We all can live in peace together if we reconcile. Harmony between different ethnicities is the need of the hour and can help foster brotherhood in the province,” Langove said.

Emphasising unity among all the tribes and communities, the provincial minister said the people of Balochistan are loving and peaceful. Provincial ministers Asadullah Baloch, Nawabzada Haji Lashkari Raisani and tribal elders were also present on the occasion.
