Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed is confident about regaining his place in the national side.

While talking to media in Karachi, Sarfaraz said that he wants to play for Pakistan and he won't be bothered by the fact that someone else is captaining the side.

"I just want to play for Pakistan no matter who the captain is," said Sarfaraz. "It was PCB's decision and I was not pressurised to leave captaincy of the side."

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had removed Sarfaraz Ahmed as captain from all formats, with immediate effect, last month.

The wicketkeeper-batsman was also dropped from the side for the tour of Australia and had been asked by the PCB to regain form in domestic cricket, inorder to be a part of the side in the future.

Top-order batsman Azhar Ali was named as Pakistan’s Test captain, while prolific batsman Babar Azam was handed over the reins of the Twenty20 side.
