The royal couple previously broke the record in 5 hours and 45min, when they made their Instagram account in April. While earlier title holders include K-Pop star Kang Daniel and Pope Francis.

Aniston's first Instagram photo was a selfie of herself with her Friends costars Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc.

Following this, people realised that the star has actually landed on the app and it was not another fan made account.  This led to a huge number of followers suddenly bombarding her profile, which actually caused it to crash temporarily.

In less than an hour, Aniston had racked up more than 116,000 followers and had followed dozens of famous people including David Spade, Julia Roberts, Adam Sandler, and ex-husband Justin Theroux.
