Whitewash at home

HYDERABAD: The T20 eighth ranked inexperienced Sri Lankan cricket team upset the world number one Pakistan in their home by whitewashing them 3-0 at Qaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The visitors completely outplayed the hosts in all departments of the game.

The bad performance of the national team has disappointed the cricket fans across the country. After winning ODI series in Karachi, the Pakistan cricket team was the favorite in hammering Sri Lanka in the series but the players from our side showed poor performance. On the other hand, the Sri Lankan team without playing with their senior players showed full sportsman spirit and played aggressive cricket while the boys from our side particularly in the batting department looked nervous. Although two senior batsmen, Ahmed Shahzad and Umar Akmal, were given a chance in the national team after a long time, both these players failed to perform. Being a cricket fan, I am very disappointed by the way the home team lost the T20 series against Sri Lanka.

The PCB must take immediate notice of the team’s recent home defeat.
