Sargodha University has begun the process of reimbursing students of former public-private partnerships sub campuses in Lahore and Mandi Bahauddin. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) recovered Rs57 million from the owners of the sub campuses in plea bargain. In a special ceremony held on Wednesday, NAB Lahore Director Niaz Hassan and Sargodha University Vice Chancellor Dr Ishtiaq Ahmed distributed cheques worth Rs3.38 million among more than 200 students. In total, 600 students will be reimbursed the looted money which the management of these sub campuses had charged. NAB also seized an additional Rs61 million from the owners of the two sub campuses, who were arrested last year and released after a plea bargain. The total amount seized was Rs118 million.
